

The courses titled Returning to the Classroom (1, 2, & 3 credits) will be transcribed as Summer 2022. The courses titled ABC's of a Covid Classroom (1, 2, & 3 credits)and Modifying K-12 Education (1, 2, & 3 credits) will be transcribed as Spring 2022.

Please note that we do not offer refunds, so please ensure that your state/district will accept these credits before registering (see 'Pre-Approval Information' below). To earn all 18 credits, register for all 9 courses or choose any combination of the credit options listed below. You do not have to complete the courses in order. FERPA ensures that student information is not provided to third parties without consent from the affected students, and the Clery Act ensures a safe campus for all students.Teachers who have learned new skills, changed lesson plans, rearranged classroom learning, learned or used new technologies, and used other teaching methods during non-contract hours to adapt to Covid-19 standards can earn up to 18 professional development credits (our courses are graduate level, non-degree, semester credits) through Idaho State University. Student RightsĪs part of KCC, the RMTC protects students according to both FERPA and the Clery Act. Students should discuss all prior learning and experience with their program instructor prior to enrollment. In these cases students may apply for prior experiential credit. Many Industrial Trades students have extensive knowledge and skills, which may be equivalent to the knowledge and skills taught at KCC. Students may be granted credit for prior learning or work experience. The bulk of coursework is provided to the students by KCC staff, and can be completed any time that suits the student.

Students may register for modules at any time during the semester. Students may attend at any time during open lab hours to work on their modules and learning activities at their own pace. Instructors provide one-on-one instruction to individual students as they work through these learning activities.

Each module contains a list of learning activities which may include reading technical manuals or textbooks, watching videos, completing written exercises, completing hands-on lab activities and/or completing written or lab-based assessments, much of which is available online. Industrial Trades instruction is instructor-facilitated instead of instructor-led. Competency-based means students must achieve the minimum score (80%, 90% or 100%) to pass the module. In some programs, modules must be taken in successive order, where students must pass each successive module before starting the next. Modules are short, topical courses generally between five and 25 clock hours in length. Additionally, students are able to register for courses at any point in the semester, and students aren’t required to attend once they’ve completed their modules. KCC’s Industrial Trades programming approach offers an innovative, nontraditional style of training called Open Entry, Open Exit that incorporates competency-based modules, individualized instruction and self-paced learning.

Regular semester hours at the RMTC are 8 a.m. Industrial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR).Industrial Trades programs offered at KCC include: Together, these departments design training programs for students and modern industrial businesses. The facility is also home to KCC’s Workforce Solutions Department. The RMTC is an innovative, community-driven training facility located in the Fort Custer Industrial Park. Kellogg Community College offers manufacturing, skilled trades and applied technology training in Albion, Battle Creek, Coldwater and Hastings, with Industrial Trades programming housed primarily at the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center in Battle Creek.
